Point-to-Point

A common requirement for our customers is to provide a solution which will provide 1Gbps Full-Duplex connectivity between two sites. Often the answer to the problem is an E-band solution, meaning a set of radios that work within the 70-80Ghz frequency.

Quite often we get enquiries asking for gigabit or even multi-gigabit connectivity over wireless bridges and with those high speeds comes a requirement for the links to be as reliable as possible.

This is an industry first, and paves the way for extreme high bandwidth connectivity, which far outmatches a leased line in terms of cost and ease of installation.

For many short point to point backhaul deployments the 5Ghz frequency is used and quite often, rightly so. The solutions are readily available, often easy to deploy and the price of the link is often attractive.

A common request from IT managers for companies is to link multiple buildings together on a business park or industrial park.

I have been dropped into the sub-world of Wireless Bridging so I thought in an effort to enlighten others into what is required when planning a Point to Point wireless bridge I would document what I’ve picked up in this blog.
