Several emerging technologies are going to profoundly change our lives – Bluetooth 5, 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and quantum computing. Why? Because our wearable and mobile devices are going to be able to generate and process more data than ever before.
For many years now we have been advising clients in the important reasons why using a WiFi pre-shared key or PSK on their corporate network is just no longer acceptable and that they should be taking their network and data a lot more seriously.
Network architects are often confronted with competing objectives when designing new campus networks: maximise scalability, and upgradability while keeping management simple. A stack of fixed form factor switches, offers the ease of management of a chassis with vastly superior flexibility and cost effectiveness.
Back in January the UK's Ofcom announced that they would be making more spectrum available for WiFi 6 (500 MHz) naming it WiFi 6E (for extended). Think of the new frequency band as an extra motorway alongside an existing one. Clients will not only be able to use the 2.4GHz and 5GHz but now 6Ghz as well.
OFCOM have opened 500MHz of radio spectrum frequency in the new 6GHz band. This will significantly boost the speed of licence-exempt wireless networks. Low cost out-door wireless bridges currently available in 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz will soon have 6 GHz models.
Recently both Aruba & Ruckus Wireless introduced 802.11ax access points. They have radios that supports Zigbee to cover a larger range of IoT device connectivity, making the APs a universal IoT platform.
