Wärtsilä (Leicester) had recently taken on a new building within the same estate as one of their existing workshops. They required 10Gbps connectivity between the two buildings across 300 meters to extend the LAN to their new building.
The RNAA holds many events throughout the year at the Royal Norfolk Show-ground and wanted to provide a stable wireless service to their guests and exhibitors. With limited infrastructure in place, to provide wireless access for corporate connectivity on a day to day basis as well as guest access, they needed a completely new system.

The link recommended to Shoosmiths was an 80 Ghz Band E wireless link due to the requirement of high availability, low latency and gigabit throughput with AES encryption.
Delt Shared Services needed high speed, reliable and extremely secure connectivity for events in a building that was not connected to their WAN. Due to the delivery timescales, traditional leased line solutions were not an option.
It became apparent that should the link ever fail it would be very dif cult to obtain replacement parts and the downtime on the link would cause major issues to the operation of the business. Waiting two weeks for replacement parts wasn’t an option they were willing to entertain.

As with many educational establishments, the increasing demand of wireless client devices across the classrooms and office spaces, saw the existing wireless infrastructure reach its maximum capacity, which subsequently led to unusable network speeds.
