Delt Shared Service

Delt Shared Services Ltd is a publicly owned private limited company and currently provides a vast range of IT services to Plymouth City Council (PCC) and NHS as its founding partners. Delt Shared Services Ltd. Is continuing to grow and develop the services it provides to its partners and customers. The company was formed to provide a shared IT service but will expand to provide other transactional support services.

The Problem

Delt Shared Services needed high speed, reliable and extremely secure connectivity for events in a building that was not connected to their WAN. Due to the delivery timescales, traditional leased line solutions were not an option. Delt Shared Services has a building already connected to their WAN within a direct line of sight. This lead us to looking at wireless bridge solutions.

The Solution

We provided Delt Shared Services with a wireless Ethernet bridge based around a pair of Fastback Networks Liberator V1000 radios. This solution was recommended on the basis it provided carrier grade performance, could be secured using AES256 encryption and was more resilient than other wireless offerings. Having years of industry experience of wireless bridges operating in the 5Ghz band, we were attracted to the fact the solution used the 60Ghz V band. This provided interference free comms that was license exempt and could be rapidly deployed.

The solution provided has been working great for us. It is invisible in our normal operations and we almost forget the site is connected over a wireless link

The Outcome

We were able to design, deliver and install the solution within a matter of a few weeks.

We were impressed by their innovative design which they could deliver to our tight deadline.

Allan our account manager at Digital Air Wireless answered all our concerns and was able to provide the information required to move the project through our change process rapidly. John, our assigned install engineer, completed the install in two days. Nothing was too much trouble for him and any minor design changes on site were easy to work through.

Overall we were very happy with DigitalAir Wireless’s service from design, survey and install.
