Wireless Point to Point Installation

Bridging two buildings together using a wireless point to point link is very popular due to the advances in the technology in out performing the higher costs of leased line circuits or digging your own private fibre connection.

Typical leased circuits that are affordable max out at 100mbps leaving the only other alternative being a wireless PtP solution.

This is where manufacturers such as LigoWave and Siklu can offer a more cost effective solution with multi-gigabit FULL Duplex speeds.

We have been installing wireless point to points for years, with such technologies as FSO (Laser Link), WiFi and millimetre wave 60/80Ghz.

Installation for PtP wireless links typically takes about a day per end depending on the cable run into the network infrastructure, but can be installed within a day of your cable runs are short. This makes setting up temporary links very easy too.

Different technology manufactures deliver wireless links that meet different needs.  No one solution will fit every projects need.  WiFi bridges provide excellent links requiring longer distances in low congestion areas, whereas mmW links provide much faster speeds at shorter distances and are not effected by wireless congestion by other links.  They are also considered more secure.

Siklu

Siklu products operate in the virtually interference free 60GHz-70GHz/80GHz frequency bands. This large swath of available frequency stems from the fact that there is over 24GHz of available spectrum in these bands coupled with extremely narrow beams yields almost unlimited spectrum. This manufacturer is used when we have links requiring multi-gig speeds, with high availability.

LigoWave

IgniteNet

IgniteNet MetroLinq products utilize the 60 GHz millimeter wave band to enable the delivery of multi-gigabit connectivity wirelessly allowing quick roll-out of fiber like wireless networks across the globe. Multiple model options operating in point to point and point to multipoint modes provide multi-gigabit speeds and communication distances of up to 1.5km. We typically install IgniteNet as a lower cost option for those wanting the benefits of 60 GHz without the budget available for Siklu.
