DigitalAir specialise in integrating and extending Microsoft
Networks with wireless capabilities. Which ever wireless network
system is right for you we can integrate it to work seamlessly into
your Microsoft environment. Wireless networks offer additional benefits,
by reducing or eliminating the high cost of laying expensive fibre
and cabling and by providing backup functionality for wired networks.
Microsoft® Windows® server 2003 provides extensive support
for wireless networking technology so that businesses can extend
the capabilities of their enterprise networks to wireless devices.
Windows Server 2003 has improved and built upon the wireless support
provided in Windows 2000. Windows includes support for automatic
switching between different APs when roaming, auto detection of
a wireless network, and automatic wireless configuration - allowing
for zero client configuration.
Additional security is also provided
by the inclusion of an 802.1x client implementation in Windows XP
Professional and the inclusion of wireless device authentication
support in the Windows RADIUS server, Internet Authentication Service
(IAS).
IAS is a Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) server that performs authentication, authorization, and accounting for many types of network access, including wireless. A PKI can be used to issue certificates to the IAS server and the wireless clients for EAP-TLS authentication.
