AeroScout's enterprise visibility solutions use standard Wi-Fi wireless networks to accurately locate and manage assets and people in multiple environments. The AeroScout system includes indoor and outdoor real-time asset location (RTLS), long range Active RFID, choke-point visibility and telemetry, enabling customers in numerous industries to drive revenues and cut costs.
AeroScout created the industry's first Wi-Fi tags in 2003, and continues to develop innovative tag solutions for multiple markets. The T2 Tag is the industry's best-selling and most widely-deployed Wi-Fi tag, and the T3 Tag provides unmatched advanced features in a sleek, low-profile form.

Features of AeroScout Tags include:
AeroScout Tags enable the wireless network infrastructure to locate people and assets otherwise not connected to a wireless network. The Tags' small size and weight and convenient forms allow mounting even on very small or oddly-shaped assets. AeroScout offers multiple mounting options for its tags, including a trailer mount, a ID badge clip, and a vehicle hanger.
A powerful, replaceable battery provides 4 years of battery life. The Tag periodically provides a report on the battery level so that when the battery level runs low, replacement can be done efficiently with minimum down time. AeroScout Tags can also utilize a built-in motion sensor to conserve battery life while inactive.
AeroScout Tags transmit standard Wi-Fi messages that can be received and processed by standard wireless access points (802.11b/g) from multiple leading networking vendors, as well as AeroScout Location Receivers. This enables customers to use their existing (or new) access points as readers, installing a full-featured visibility system at a very low infrastructure cost.
AeroScout Tags include a unique built-in choke-point function that no other tag can match. Using the AeroScout Exciter, the tags can be detected with high accuracy at a constrained area (such as a shelf or small room) or trigger immediate alerts as they pass through a choke point (such as a doorway or gate).
The AeroScout system uniquely locates tag both indoors and outdoors, and in mixed indoor/outdoor environments, due to the use of both RSSI and TDOA algorithms. This enables the same tag to roam freely between buildings and open-air areas, with seamless location at all times.
A call button feature adds the ability to define events according to button(s) pushed on the tag. This enables advanced functionality such as emergency reporting or parts replenishment.
AeroScout Tags are fully 802.11 compatible. The Tag's channel sensing techniques avoid interference with other Wi-Fi data or voice traffic. The use of the unlicensed 2.4GHz frequency band at low power levels ensures no interference with other wireless equipment, making AeroScout Tags safe for use with such sensitive equipment as medical devices in a hospital.
The T2 Tag can store up to 10 messages of 10 bytes each. These messages can either be pre-programmed by the Tag Manager software or programmed on the fly by an AeroScout Exciter when a tag is in proximity to it. These messages can be transmitted and received wirelessly in addition to the standard location messages.
AeroScout Tags can be programmed via a wireless interface. The Tag Manager software allows for easy and efficient tag configuration, activation or deactivation and programming. The Tag Activator enables wireless batch programming of up to 50 tags at the same time. In addition, the tags can receive messages and programming in the field through AeroScout Exciters.
The tags' built-in motion sensor intelligently conserves battery life and offers enhanced tracking, by enabling separate transmission intervals for tags when they are stationary or in motion. An optional built-in temperature sensor measures and delivers environmental temperature, and can trigger alerts based on reaching a configurable threshold. AeroScout Tags also include an external serial interface for data retrieval from host devices. The tags can retrieve valuable data such as fuel gauge, mileage, or pressure measurements from the host periodically, and send that data wirelessly in addition to the location messages.
AeroScout T3 Tags include a tamper-proofing mechanism built-in for theft prevention and high-security areas. Expanded LED functionality adds the option for up to three different coloured LED lights on the tag when unique visual identification is needed for large inventory settings.
AeroScout Tags are designed to handle tough work environments such as manufacturing and outdoor applications. The Tag enclosure is water-resistant and designed to withstand significant physical shocks and drops.
In addition to the T2 and T3 tag models, AeroScout has worked with a variety of customers to meet individual needs, integrating the Tag platform into existing hardware or unique form factors.
